The summer is coming! Finally, some positive news was announced, and the Covid-19 restrictions for those looking to come to Türkiye by yacht have eased.

Covid-19

A negative PCR test on arrival by yacht means no need to quarantine

The Turkish Health Ministry has said that they understood the mandatory 72 hour PCR test time restriction made it difficult for the guests and crew of many yachts looking to come to Türkiye this season. For that reason, they have made yacht arrivals exempt from this rule. It is now only necessary to take a PCR test on arrival in Türkiye, and if it proves negative, no quarantine period is necessary. This means yacht owners, their families, charter clients, and crew will be allowed to enter Türkiye and enjoy all the coast has to offer without needing to quarantine in most cases.

Direct flights from the UK have resumed.

More good news came via the Turkish Embassy in London last week with the announcement travel restrictions to Türkiye had been lifted, and direct flights to Türkiye had resumed. It was also announced UK travellers were no longer subject to the 10 days quarantine provided they tested negative in a PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival. This rule now also applies to Denmark. Note: Those travelling from South Africa and Brazil are still subject to a 10-day quarantine period.

Personal health and hygiene regulations still need to be observed.

Although the easing of restrictions is positive for those looking to cruise in Türkiye this season, many precautions are still in place to limit the risk of Covid-19. Those visiting Türkiye and spending time onshore will still need to abide by health, hygiene and social distancing regulations as follows:

  • Masks need to be worn in public. This includes entry into restaurants, on beaches and while shopping.
  • Those visiting may be subject to remote temperature control on entry into bars, restaurants, shopping malls and public buildings.
  • Anyone out shopping or dining should make use of the hand sanitiser supplied and made available in stores, malls, bars, beach clubs and eateries.
  • All social contact should be kept to a minimum, and social distancing rules still need to be observed. Contact with anyone outside your immediate family or social group is still not advised.

Measures in place to ensure continued health.

With vaccines now being rolled out across the globe, hopefully, an end to the pandemic finally in sight. Many cases still exist, and the Turkish government is closely monitoring the situation and statistics. This means that rules and regulations change frequently, and lockdowns and restrictions can be announced at short notice. To limit risk to foreign guests and Turkish citizens, all businesses involved in the tourism, hospitality and service sectors still need to adhere to a long list of regulations.

  • All businesses and public transport vehicles need to be deep-cleaned regularly. Restaurants should clean tables and chairs between guests, and contactless payment should be offered in eateries and shops where possible.
  • Staff involved in the hospitality and the service sectors will be subject to regular controls, wear masks or a face shield, and abide by strict social distancing guidelines.
  • Hotels, restaurants and cafes will continue to space seating and sunbeds further apart to allow for social distancing.
  • Restaurants and cafes in Türkiye are only providing take-out and delivery services until the end of Ramadan (May 12th), when the situation will be reassessed. It is thought these rules will remain in place until after the Bayram / Eid celebrations.

Antimic yacht cleaning

360° Yachting understand health and cleanliness is a priority. With this in mind, we are continuing to offer clients Antimic cleaning for yachts while they’re docked in Türkiye.

Antimic is an alternative disinfectant that uses nano-technology and can be used on almost any surface. Antimic has an organic structure and is water-based; it contains no heavy metals or alcohol. It is odourless, colourless, non-toxic and eliminates bacteria, mould, fungus, and viruses. It lasts for up to a month, far longer than the majority of other cleaning products.

Samples are initially taken from areas to be disinfected. The team then attends and uses HSC ULV fogging machines to thoroughly clean the area and get rid of the bacteria present. People should not enter the zone for at least an hour after treatment. If you would like to arrange for your yacht to be cleaned, please CONTACT US.

More information.

The Turkish health, science and tourism ministries continue to monitor the COVID-19 statistics closely, including daily infection rates and risks. The easing of containment measures and reintroduction of tourism in Türkiye is dependent on keeping the figures under control. For this reason, regulations do change at short notice. If you would like Port of Entry assistance, need a current update or have any yachting requirements, please CONTACT US.
