Flower Themes for Superyacht Interiors

Most superyachts tend to stick to a floral theme throughout the interior. Many yachts opt for arrangements in a specific colour palatte (only greens, natural tones, muted pastels and creams, whites, reds etc.). We often receive pictures to give us an idea of what our florist should create. In contrast, others ask for classic displays of roses, peonies, calla lilies, seasonal blooms or a modern tropical statement piece for the salon, suite, or centre table. Flowers for the Salon, Bar, and Lobby

Flowers make a statement, be it a big, bright, colourful display with tropical leaves, orchids, or anthuriums for the salon, lobby, or bar, a sophisticated, long, low-level floral array for the centre table or formal dining space, or a subtle arrangement to grace the top of the cabinets in staterooms, suites, and bathrooms. Traditionally, tall, contemporary, and elaborate displays work better in large spaces as they draw the eye, whereas delicate roses and low-level arrangements are better for tables and intimate areas where guests can appreciate the beauty up close.

Elaborate Floral Displays

Over the years, some yachts have chosen to take their onboard events to new heights with large tropical table arrangements and hanging floral displays. The latter is created by suspending floral hoops, floral chandeliers, baskets, or wire mesh from discreet hooks or clips on the ceiling. These dramatic arrays can completely transform a space. It is, however, important to keep in mind there is no water to sustain fresh flowers from hanging displays, and they may ruin quickly in Türkiye’s warm climate. Alternatively, quality dried, silk, or artificial flowers and foliage can be delivered and used instead. Stateroom and Bathroom Floral Arrangements

A simple, well-considered floral arrangement works well for most superyacht staterooms and ensuites. It’s important to stick to the theme and not clash and only complement the décor and space. An arrangement of seasonal muted blooms or a few tropical flowers like orchids, anthuriums, calla lilies or tuberoses in a plain vase looks good and should last around a week. If you expect to be cruising for longer, a vintage arrangement of three carefully selected hydrangeas in a ceramic vase or a natural display of olive, bamboo, or eucalyptus branches in a plain vase looks stylish.
