Gocek is synonymous with cruising and sailing in Türkiye. This sophisticated town tucked in a beautiful bay jewelled with islands is Türkiye’s original yachting mecca, well before the likes of Yalikavak came into play.

Gocek naturally lends itself towards cruising so, as you would expect, the yachting facilities are superb. The town boasts six marinas, two catering for superyachts. Gocek is the ideal stop-off or layover for anyone wishing to spend time with the yacht crowd or that enjoys living the high-life onshore.

Gocek, a “must visit” for all those sailing in Türkiye.

Like many of the towns and bays along the Turkish coast, Gocek boasts a fascinating history. Today the hillsides surrounding the bay are home to fancy villas and multi-million dollar properties. But, according to legend, it was from these very hills that Icarus took off then landed in the sea after his famous flight to escape imprisonment. The harbour has also not always been filled with the fancy bistros and designer boutiques we find today. Gocek was once an industrial harbour used to ship chrome, and before that, it was awash with pirates and sea bandits!

Gocek’s location, just a 20-minute transfer from Dalaman International Airport, makes it the ideal base for those looking to jet to and from their yachts and this is why so many owners choose to home their boats in town. It’s also home to 360° Yachting so please feel free to call in or CONTACT US if you’re in the area – we would love to meet you!

Gocek Skopea Marina

Skopea Marina in Gocek was Türkiye’s first private marina, established in 1989. As the original large yacht marina, it’s in the best position and is within an easy walk of the town centre with all its high-end restaurants, bars and facilities. Skopea Marina can accommodate up to 80 yachts and those up to 110 meters can be tied to jetty. The larger yachts tend to moor on the southern side of the wharf where the depth is up to 5 meters. Smaller vessels can tie-up to mooring lines on the inner side, and there are water and electric lines on both. The entire site benefits from 24-hour security and special arrangements can easily be made.

Del Marin Cafe is a more informal option and a shorts and shades affair. It serves light-bites, snacks, cocktails and afternoon aperitifs at the water’s edge. This is a good place to enjoy drinks and nibbles knowing you are well within reach of the yacht should you wish to retire back for a siesta.

There’s no denying, Skopea Marina deserves its reputation as a premium yacht facility in Türkiye. If you would like more info on the marina, or to book a berth, please CONTACT US.
